Grown Local Loved Local

McCain is the largest purchaser of potatoes for processing in Australia and we pride ourselves on our strong relationship with Australian agriculture and food service businesses.

Grown Local, Loved Local The best produce

We’ve been growing our relationship with local farmers for over 50 years.

Today we work with over 130 potato growers across Australia, and we’re committed to providing the ideal conditions for all our farmers to grow and flourish.

On mainland Australia, we work with around 40 growers spread across VIC, NSW and SA. We work with over 80 growers in Tasmania, from Smithton to the north east and down to the central areas. Together, we produce the fries that Aussies love.

Grown Local, Loved Local Communities

Communities are a key part of our ecosystem, we can’t succeed without them. That’s why we give as much back as we can, and will continue to do our part in the future.

2.9 million+ meals donated

In particular, last financial year McCain ANZ donated over 100,000 meals and 160,000 bags of peas, worth $1m to FoodBank, the biggest hunger relief  charity in Australia, with 100 workers from the McCain Ballarat team devoting 24 hours to the cause.

Giving Back to the community

Our teams across Australia and New Zealand contributed more than 1,500  hours of volunteer work in the community.

Helping charities Flourish

There are many more initiatives we've proudly partnered with to make a difference through sponsorships, donations and event participation.

Grown Local, Loved Local Business & People

Over 50 years of natural growth.

We’ve come a long way since purchasing our first factory in 1971. Today we have a strong network of three factories in Australia across Ballarat and Smithton, with a dedicated central office in Melbourne.

We have a thriving workforce of over 1,200 people. By focusing on local produce, we’ve naturally grown to employ over 900 locals in our plants and over 250 in our offices across ANZ, contributing to healthy and thriving local economies.

Grown Local, Loved Local Sustainability

We are committed to our four-part Sustainability Strategy.

  1. Smarter, more sustainable farming
  2. More resource-efficient operations
  3. Food that’s as good as it looks
  4. Communities that thrive
